Transforming the Patio: Installation Process
Meticulous Preparation for the Perfect Foundation
Before starting the installation, we carefully excavated the soil area at the rear of the property to create a level base. We then laid 200m of clean stone over the excavated area, ensuring a stable foundation. A weed control membrane was pegged securely over the stone to prevent any unwanted growth.
To achieve a solid, porous surface, we poured porous concrete across the membrane and meticulously levelled it in preparation for the new resin bound surfacing.
Laying the Dual-Coloured Resin Bound Patio
Once the porous concrete surface had dried, we installed the edging trims to frame the crisp, dual-colour combination design, using Sage Grey for the border and Sand Storm for the centre.
The BBA UV stable resin colours were expertly mixed according to the manufacturer’s instructions, poured into their designated areas, and evenly spread by our specialist team.
This dual-tone patio design added a sophisticated contrast that enhanced the patio’s visual appeal.
Curing and Final Touches
After laying the resin, we allowed it to cure for the time specified by the manufacturer under favourable weather conditions, ensuring a durable and stable finish.
The result was a flawless resin bound patio that not only improved the homeowner’s outdoor space but also added value to their property.
Installation Challenges and Strategies
Weather Dependency:
The weather played a significant role in this project’s timeline. By closely monitoring the forecast, we strategically scheduled the installation phases to ensure optimal drying and curing conditions.
Level Surface Requirement:
Creating a level surface was critical. The porous concrete layer had to be perfectly levelled to provide a smooth and even foundation. Our team meticulously levelled and checked the surface multiple times to guarantee a flawless final result.
Dual-Coloured Design Precision:
Achieving the desired crispness between the Sage Grey border and Sand Storm centre required precise execution. We carefully measured and taped the edges to prevent colour bleeding and ensured a seamless finish.
Resin Patio Flooring Features
Our resin bound surfacing solution provided a permeable, durable, and aesthetically pleasing patio. The Sage Grey border contrasted beautifully with the Sand Storm centre, creating a striking focal point. This patio design offers numerous benefits:
- Permeable Surface: Allows water to drain naturally, preventing puddles and reducing the risk of flooding.
- Durability: Resistant to UV degradation, cracking, and weeds.
- Low Maintenance: Requires minimal upkeep, with occasional sweeping or power washing to maintain its appearance.
